Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a medical treatment method preferred for wound and acne scars, for skin renewal and hair loss.

The patient’s own blood is taken and centrifuged at 3000 rpm for about 8 minutes. After the centrifuge process, special PRP kits are used to separate with thrombocytes rich in growth factors. The serum rich in thrombocytes is injected to the desired body areas of the patient in small doses. Depending on the conditions, PRP treatment generally takes 2 to 4 weeks. The treatment has no side effects as it obtained from the patient’s own blood. However, the expertise of the physician, the PRP kit and availability of a special centrifuge machine for the PRP kit, are vital for the treatment’s success. You are strongly advised to stay away from centers that use simple laboratory tubes for PRP instead of PRP kits.
